Are you a GIS professional navigating the evolving intersection of GIS and BIM? Or a government decision-maker wondering why integrating the built environment into GIS is crucial for your department’s future?
Join us for BIM & GIS: Smarter Data, Smarter Decisions, a foundational workshop designed to clarify the role of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the geospatial landscape. Discover why BIM matters to GIS professionals and how the convergence of Digital Twins, BIM, and GIS is transforming industries.
In today’s rapidly advancing digital landscape, BIM and GIS serve distinct yet complementary roles in managing spatial data and creating visual representations. This workshop will demystify their differences and provide professionals—especially those in government and related sectors—with the knowledge to leverage both technologies effectively.
Transform your workflows, integrate with confidence, and prepare your department for the future of geospatial innovation.
Through insightful discussions, we’ll explore the significance of aligning BIM with GIS for a more cohesive, data-driven approach to spatial planning and infrastructure management. Learn about data acquisition, practical steps for handling CAD data for BIM, and gain a comprehensive overview of BIM software ecosystems and open standards.
• BIM & GIS Fundamentals – Understand the core concepts, differences, and synergies between BIM and GIS in spatial planning and infrastructure management.
• Data Interoperability & Standards – Learn how organizations like OGC are advancing BIM-GIS integration through interoperability standards, enabling seamless data exchange.
• BIM for GIS Professionals – Explore BIM data structures, workflows, and integration strategies from a GIS perspective.
• Smarter Decision-Making – Apply BIM and GIS insights to improve geospatial analysis, asset management, and infrastructure planning.
